About Tasmanian Regions

Tasmanian Regions is a free online magazine published by the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment, Tasmania’s lead natural resource agency. DPIPWE is responsible for the sustainable management, use and protection of the State’s natural resources and cultural heritage for the benefit of the Tasmanian community and economy. This includes agriculture, aquaculture, water and marine resources, biosecurity and product integrity, animal welfare, environmental protection, Aboriginal and European heritage, resource management and conservation, invasive species and various information and land services. It also delivers ready access to government services via the Service Tasmania shop network.

DPIPWE aims to contribute to the achievement of four major outcomes for Tasmanians: a compelling sense of place; a healthy lifestyle; a strong economy; and a credible Tasmanian brand.

Tasmanian Regions documents DPIPWE’s diverse activities and also features regional Tasmanians who are contributing to the same positive and worthy outcomes with their ingenuity, hard work and investment.
